Although it may seem that the recent arrival of the new club rib has taken longer than anticipated, for one member of the club this is the culmination of a good few years of work.Hugh has worked his way through changes in the committee, resubmissions of the application, a headmaster retiring, and interesting conversations with the CEO of the Lottery Commission. Finally all of his hard work paided off when ’Sport England’ awarded Excalibur Sub Aqua Club a grant to purchase a new dive rib. ![]() Excalibur’s greatest asset are it’s members, but one member has gone far and beyond to provided us with our biggest asset, a 6.7 meter twin engine diving rib for us all to enjoy. Let me introduce ‘Silver Fox’. I know that everyone within the club would like to send Hugh ‘Silver Fox’ Venables their thanks for all of his hard work getting us here. At this point we should not forget all of the hard work and effort put in by Stuart, Chris, a collection of Garnett’s and many others. I am proud to be the first Boat Officer with ‘Silver Fox’ in my care. Now, let’s get it in the water and start using it! |
